Mai van Oers Solo Exhibition Fries Museum
This spring, the Fries Museum will present the first solo exhibition of work by Mai van Oers (Uden, 1953). Her drawings transport viewers to a world that is seemingly impossible, where life and death are intertwined and where Van Oers plays with light, order, perspective, infinity and spatiality. The exhibition also includes some of her landscape paintings. The light shining through the greens and browns of her distillations of nature bring the small paintings to life. Van Oers studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, was awarded the Jeanne Oosting Prize for Painting, and lives and works in Amsterdam. From 2 april until 17 july 2022. Read more.
